GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Florida Gators Men’s Track & Field athlete Sean Dixon-Bodie has been named SEC Men’s Field Athlete of the Week, as announced by the Southeastern Conference on Tuesday afternoon.
Competing in his first meet of the 2024 outdoor season, Dixon-Bodie captured a mark of 16.68m/54’8.75″ in the men’s triple jump. If not for a slight wind assist (2.1 m/s), Dixon-Bodie’s mark would stand as the top mark in the NCAA in 2024 by 0.28m and would give him sole possession of No. 6 on UF’s All-Time Top 10 List in the event. His wind legal jump of the event landed at 16.25m/53’3.75″ which lands him at No. 2 in the NCAA in 2024.
Nevertheless, Dixon-Bodie’s performance was impressive as he recorded a second-place finish, topping two-time Olympic Gold Medalist and Gator Great Christian Taylor during the competition.
