Here are the headlines from Tuesday, August 22 and Wednesday, August 23.
JUMPERS DENDY AND MOORE ADVANCE TO FINALS

United States Champion, Marquis Dendy qualified for the men’s long jump final early Wednesday morning. A tenth-place finish in the qualifying round, courtesy of an 8.08m (26’6″) mark, granted Dendy the opportunity to compete for a medal on Thursday, August 24 at 1:30 p.m. ET.

Participating in her second event of World Championships, Jasmine Moore looked to reach another final, this time in the women’s triple jump. Moore was able to accomplish this feat thanks to a tenth-place finish in the qualifying round.

She will continue competition on Friday, August 25 at 1:35 p.m. ET.

FAHNBULLEH TO PARTICIPATE IN SEMI-FINAL

Former Gator Joseph Fahnbulleh began competition at the 2023 World Athletics Championships on Wednesday. Representing Liberia, Fahnbulleh participated in the men’s 200m. His time of 20.42 was good for a second-place finish in his heat.

His placement in the heat automatically earned him a spot in the semi-final race which is scheduled for Thursday, August 24 at 2:20 p.m. ET.

MCGEE AND DIGGS CONCLUDE EVENTS

McGee concluded her third straight trip to the women’s 1500m World Championship final on Tuesday with a tenth-place finish, completing the race with a time of 4:01.60. McGee was the only member of Team USA to reach the 1500m final.
