BIRMINGHAM – The UAB Women’s Soccer team hits the road for the first time this season when it travels to Montgomery to face Alabama State Thursday evening. Kickoff at the ASU Soccer complex is scheduled for 6 p.m.
UAB LATELY
The Blazers (0-2-0) fell to No. 7 Alabama 1-0 on Sunday night. The score was deadlocked for the first 80 minutes of play until a Tide shot made it through on the left side, getting an advantageous bounce off the left post for the goal.
ALABAMA STATE LATELY
The Hornets (0-1-1) are opening their home slate after falling 4-1 at Jacksonville and drawing at Faulkner 1-1.
THE SERIES VS. ALABAMA STATE
Thursday marks the fourth meeting between the two schools. UAB leads the series 2-0-1 overall and 1-0-0 in Montgomery.

UAB fired 39 shots at Alabama State keeper Sheila Sanchez but could not find the back of the net as the Blazers and Hornets finished in a 0-0 draw Sept. 10, 2021.
