GAINESVILLE, Fla.- The Southeastern Conference and Commissioner Greg Sankey announced a new set of guidelines and formats for the 2020-21 men’s and women’s swimming and diving season on Monday afternoon.
The Gators’ upcoming regular season campaign can commence on Oct. 1, 2020 and finish no later than Jan. 25, 2021. All competition must be against regionalized opponents and will be restricted to dual meets unless certain accommodations and strategies are created to limit participants to ensure proper distancing.
A full schedule for both the men’s and women’s teams will be released at a later date.
2020-21 SEC Swimming and Diving Plan:
* Season runs October 1, 2020 to January 25, 2021
* Regionalized competition permitted upon the adherence of opponents to SEC Medical Guidance Task Force Requirements for COVID-19 Management
* No restrictions on number of events
COVID-19 Commitments to Student-Athletes:
