ATLANTA, Ga. – On the final day of NCAA Diving Zone competition, two Gators added an additional event to their NCAA slates after their performances in the men’s platform.

Leonardo Garcia and Anton Svirskyi once again punched their tickets to the NCAA Championships. This is the third event that Garcia has qualified for, while Svirskyi has now qualified in two events (3M, platform).

Men’s Platform Final
Garcia finished fifth overall in the men’s platform final with a score of 769.80 to earn his third and final NCAA qualification.

Even though Svirskyi placed 11th overall in the final and only the Top-7 qualify, due to the NCAA rule of “Any diver that is eligible to compete as noted above will be allowed to optionally enter any other event(s) at the championships, provided that the diver finished in the top 12 at the same zone meet and has achieved the zone qualifying score for that event prior to the NCAA Championships.”

His score of 651.40 secured him the qualification.

Men’s Platform Prelim
The Gator men had three competitors in the platform prelim, with Garcia (372.75) leading the way with a sixth-place finish.

Svirskyi earned his spot in the final after finishing 11th with a score of 327.55, while Brandon Wegner was just outside the Top-18, placing 21st with a score of 272.85.
