UF S&D | Three Gators Punch NCAA Tickets on Day 2 of Zones

ATLANTA, Ga. – On the second day of NCAA Diving Zones, three Gators punched their tickets to the NCAA Championships.

On the men’s side, Leonardo Garcia earned a spot at NCAAs on the 1-meter springboard, while Maha Amer and Carina Lumia claimed their spots in the women’s 3-meter event.

Men’s Finals
After their performance in the prelims, both Leonardo Garcia and Anton Svirskyi earned their spot in the 1-meter springboard final. Garcia punched his ticket to the NCAA Championships with an eighth-place finish, recording a score of 664.05.

Svirskyi finished 16th overall on the 1-meter, posting a score of 590.60.

Men’s Prelims
Garcia notched a 10th-place finish in the preliminary round with a score of 317.70, while Svirskyi posted a 17th-place finish with a score of 285.10.

Just outside of the cusp of the Top-18 was Nick Lydon, who finished 25th with a score of 265.05.

Women’s Finals
All four women competing in the 3-meter springboard final had spectacular performances, with two Gators earning a trip to the NCAA Championships. Amer led the way with a sixth-place finish, posting a score of 673.50. Carina Lumia earned her first ever NCAA ticket with a 10th-place performance, finishing with a score of 583.80.

Elettra Neroni finished 13th in the final with a score of 578.30, followed by Caroline Pagac (570.90) in 15th place.

Women’s Prelims
Four of the five Gator women that competed in the preliminary round dove their way into the finals, led by Amer, who recorded a mark of 327.90, good for sixth overall.

Neroni followed in 11th place, posting a score of 294.05, while Caroline Pagac (287.45) and Carina Lumia (287.40) finished 14th and 15th, respectively.

Rounding out the Gators competing in the prelim was Elizabeth Perez, who finished 28th overall with a score of 263.10.

Tuesday’s preliminary session begins at 11 a.m. with the men’s 3-meter, followed by the women’s platform at 3:15 p.m. Events will run straight-through with a 10-minute break between the end of prelims and the beginning of finals.
