UF S&D: Swim and Dive Honored at Annual Team Banquet

Florida Swim and Dive celebrated its 2021-22 campaign Friday evening.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Florida Swim and Dive team celebrated a successful 2021-22 season Friday evening inside the Rion Ballroom at the J. Wayne Reitz Union.

The men’s team won its 10-consecutive SEC Championship, marking only the third time in the history of the SEC Championship that a team has reached 10-straight conference championships, and is the second time in program history the feat has been accomplished (13 in a row, from 1956-1968).

The 200 medley relay team of Adam Chaney, Dillon Hillis, Eric Freise, and Will Davis set the NCAA, US Open, Pool record with a 1:23.13 to claim a national championship. The men finished third at the NCAA Championships, behind national titles from the 200 medley relay, 200 free relay, and Bobby Finke’s victory in the 1650 free. Florida collected 42 All-American honors, and had 21 named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll.

The women’s team finished the season with a 3-0 record, tallying wins over FAU, Georgia, and Auburn, before finishing fifth at the SEC Championships and 13th at the NCAA Championships.

The 400 relay team of Talia Bates, Ekaterina Nikonova, Micayla Cronk, and Katie Mack set the fastest time in program history with a 3:12.37, earning All-SEC and All-American honors. The women had 11 All-American honors, seven All-SEC selections, and 24 be named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll.
