No. 3/7 Gators Down Seminoles In Sunshine Showdown
Women move to 6-1, Men improve to 5-1

OCALA/GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The No. 3/7 ranked Florida Gators Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving team took down the No. 16/NA Florida State Seminoles Friday afternoon. The women’s team won 191-103, while the men’s team posted a 179-118 victory. The Gators have now recorded four sweeps this season.

Florida registered 21 B-cut times and won 28 of the 32 total events on the day.

Diving – Gainesville
Women’s 1-Meter
Maha Amer continued her impressive season, finishing first with a 329.10. Elettra Neroni was third with a 283.20.

Women’s 3-Meter
Amer completed wins in both events after scoring a 319.95 to finish over nine points ahead of second.

Men’s 3-Meter
Leonardo Garcia nearly made history for a second straight meet, missing the school record by just one point with a 439.43.

Men’s 1-Meter
Garica scored a 359.10 for the victory, just ahead of Skip Donald at 354.15.

Swimming – Ocala
Women’s 200 Medley Relay
Florida’s A relay team started off the meet with a victory, clocking a 1:38.69.

Men’s 200 Medley Relay
The Gators completed the sweep to start off the meet, with the A relay team finishing in 1:26.53.

Women’s 1650 Free
Florida took the top-four spots in the event, with Emma Weyant finishing over 13 seconds ahead of the rest of the field, touching the wall in 16:08.24. Hayden Miller finished second, while Anna Auld and Leah DeGeorge finished right behind her.

Men’s 1650 Free
Led by Aryan Nehra’s first place finish at 14:58.52, the Gators secured the top four spots, as Jack VanDeusen, Tyler Watson, and Brennan Gravley all finished in the top-four.

Women’s 200 Free
Ekaterina Nikonova clocked a 1:47.80 to finish first in the event, with Tylor Mathieu coming in second at 1:48.43. Talia Bates (1:48.48) and Kathleen Golding (1:49.77) finished third and fourth.

Men’s 200 Free
Alfonso Mestre (1:37.02) and Jake Mitchell (1:37.16) went one-two in a close race separated by .14 of a second.

Women’s 100 Back
Aris Runnels took home first, swimming a 55.13, while Katie Mack was second at 55.52.

Adam Chaney finished second, clocking a sub-50 second time of 48.18.

Women’s 100 Breast
In a meet against her old school, Nina Kucheran was victorious, clocking a 1:01.67. Olivia Peoples finished in second, while Jessica Strong was in third.

Aleksas Savickas continued his impressive season in the breaststroke, finishing first at 53.77.

Women’s 200 Fly
Reigning freshman of the week Zoe Dixon clocked a 1:57.89 to place first, ahead of Amanda Ray in second at 1:58.59.

Men’s 200 Fly
With a time of 1:46.90, Joaquin Gonzalez Pinero claimed top spot to lead the Gators.

Women’s 50 Free
Ekaterina Nikonova touched the wall in 22.67 for a first-place finish, with Talia Bates right behind her at 22.78.

Men’s 50 Free
Joshua Liendo (19.61) and Macguire McDuff (19.91) were the only ones to post sub-20 second times as Florida took the top two spots.

Women’s 100 Free
After winning the 50 free, Nikonova followed it up with a 49.46 to claim the 100 free title.

Men’s 100 Free
Alberto Mestre clocked a 44.35 to hold off the rest of the field for a victory.

Women’s 200 Back
Dixon continued her tremendous freshman campaign, swimming a 1:55.02 for another victory.

Men’s 200 Back
Mason Laur finished in third at 1:49.40, while Advait Page’s 1:50.52 put him in fourth.

Women’s 200 Breast
Kucheran capped off her day with another victory, swimming a 2:12.94 to finish over three and a half seconds ahead of the rest of the field.

Mateusz Dubas surged late in the 200 breast to clock a 1:58.12 for the win. Aleksas Savickas was second at 1:58.70, followed by Raphael Rached Windmuller at 1:59.23.

Women’s 500 Free
Hayden Miller impressed in the distance like she has all season, swimming a 4:46.39 to finish over 12 seconds ahead of second.

Men’s 500 Free
Alfonso Mestre took the win, touching the wall in 4:19.23.

Women’s 100 Fly
Olivia Peoples tallied a second-place finish after a time of 54.37.

Men’s 100 Fly
Liendo won his second event of the day, clocking a 46.85 for the victory.

Women’s 400 IM
Dixon once again was atop the podium, swimming a 4:14.58 for the win.

Men’s 400 IM
Ben Cote finished second at 3:56.64, while four other Gators swam in exhibition.

Women’s 200 Free Relay
Florida’s A Relay registered a 1:30.48 to secure the first-place finish.

Men’s 200 Free Relay
Florida’s A Relay wrapped up the meet with a win, swimming a 1:19.08.
