UF S&D | Nesty Named U.S. Assistant Coach for 2023 World Aquatics Championships

The World Aquatics Championships will run from July 14-30 in Fukuoka, Japan

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Anthony Nesty – head coach for Florida’s men’s and women’s swimming & diving teams – added another addition to his lengthy resume on Sunday, as he was named assistant coach for the U.S. swim team at the 2023 World Aquatics Championships.

The World Championships will take place July 14-30 in Fukuoka, Japan. Bob Bowman is set to lead the men’s team, while the women’s team will be under the tutelage of Carol Capitani.

Nesty is joined on the staff by Ron Atkin, Blaire Anderson, Braden Holloway, Ray Looze, Greg Meehan, Eddie Reese and Cory Chitwood.

The reigning SEC Coach of the Year served as the 2022 FINA World Championships men’s head coach a year ago, the first time he held the distinction of as head coach of a U.S. team at an international competition.

Nesty will be joined in Japan by six Gators who punched their ticket at the Phillips 66 National Championships, which ended on Saturday – Jake Mitchell, Brennan Gravley (Open Water), Bobby Finke, Kieran Smith, Bella Sims and Katie Ledecky.
