UF S&D: Florida Diving Continues to Shine

Anton Svirskyi, Elettra Neroni claim first in platforms against Florida State

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Florida Gators diving team concluded their two-day diving meet against in-state rival Florida State Saturday afternoon. The Gators, who swept the dual meet against the Seminoles yesterday, competed in the platform today.

Anton Svirskyi dominated in the platform, scoring a career-best 434.03 to win the event. Leonardo Garcia was in third at 357.15, just in front of Elisha Dees who put up a 342.53.

In the women’s platform, Florida took the top four spots on the leaderboard, led by Elettra Neroni’s 288.83. Maha Amer finished second at 267.30, Carina Lumia in third with 249.00, and Caroline Pagac in fourth at 243.68.

“Overall it was an excellent couple days of diving. I saw a lot of improvement from last weekend’s meet and still room for improvement heading in to SECs and Zones. We are definitely heading in the right direction. The focus over the next three weeks are to stay healthy and use this meet as a confidence builder. The ODome was a tremendous atmosphere and we appreciate all the support from the Gator nation!”

Women’s 1-Meter
Maha Amer continued her impressive season, finishing first with a 329.10. Elettra Neroni was third with a 283.20.

Women’s 3-Meter
Amer completed wins in both events after scoring a 319.95 to finish over nine points ahead of second.

Men’s 3-Meter
Leonardo Garcia nearly made history for a second straight meet, missing the school record by just one point with a 439.43.

Men’s 1-Meter
Garica scored a 359.10 for the victory, just ahead of Skip Donald at 354.15.
