UF S&D: Florida Adds John Hulvey to Coaching Staff

Hulvey, a UF graduate, joins as volunteer assistant

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Florida men’s and women’s swimming and diving added John Hulvey to the coaching staff, head coach Anthony Nesty announced. Hulvey will join the team as a volunteer assistant.

A 2006 graduate from the University of Florida, Hulvey is in his 15th year coaching, serving stints as the head coach for three USA Club teams, three years with high school programs, and three years collegiately as a volunteer assistant. He is currently the head coach of Gator Swim Club.

“John has tremendous experience throughout many different levels of swimming,” Nesty said. “Paired with his local ties and dedication to the University of Florida, we’re excited for the impact he will have this season.”

Hulvey, a native of Gainesville, Florida, has coached swimmers of all levels, from novice to Olympic Trials qualifiers. Swimmers of his have represented different schools across the country, and have gone on to be conference champions and NCAA finalists.

“I’m excited to be a part of the Florida staff and to help the Gators excel into the 2023 championships!” Hulvey said.
