UF S&D: 20 Gators to Compete at Auburn Invitational

Auburn Invitational serves as last meet before SEC Championships

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The No. 3/7 Florida Gators men’s and women’s swimming and diving team will send 20 athletes to the Auburn Invitational from Feb. 3-5 at the James E. Martin Aquatic Center<https://auburntigers.com/sports/2023/1/10/james-e-martin-aquatic-center.aspx> in Auburn, Alabama.

Florida is coming off a sweep over Florida State in the Sunshine Showdown back on January 20. The women won 191-103 for its sixth win of the year, while the men posted its third ranked win of the season with a 179-118 victory. The Gators registered 21 B-cut times.

Among those headed to Auburn include Cameron Abaqueta, who was named the SEC Freshman of the Week on Jan. 17, as well as Jack VanDeusen, who has the 34th fastest 1650 free time in the country this season at 15:05.04. Brennan Gravley and Tyler Watson, also competing this weekend, both secured B-cut times in the 1650 free against Florida State.

The Auburn Invite will be the final tune up for the Gators before the SEC Championships from Feb. 14-18 in College Station, Texas, and can be followed along on the MeetMobile app.
