UF SB: Wallace Tabbed NFCA All-American

Redshirt-junior Skylar Wallace was selected as to the NFCA All-American Second Team as a DP/Utility – Non-Pitcher.

OKLAHOMA CITY – The National Fastpitch Coaches Association named Skylar Wallace of the Florida softball team to the NFCA All-American Second Team as a DP/Utility – Non-Pitcher Wednesday afternoon.
“Congratulations to Skylar for being named an NFCA All-American.” Head Coach Tim Walton said. “This award is the result of the hard word that she has put into improving her game since the day she became a member of our program in 2021. I can’t wait to continue to see her grow and develop as a player, a leader and a person in our program.”
Wallace earned the accolade for her outstanding play during the 2022 regular season. The Woodstock, Ga. native batted .392 with 65 runs scored, 42 RBI, 10 doubles, five triples, five home runs and was 46-for-50 in stolen bases during the regular season.
However, the do-it-all infielder has stepped up her game during the postseason. Wallace is batting .481 (13-for27), slugging .889 and sports an on base percentage of .563.
She has also made her presence known all across the Gators infield during the regular season as well this year as she has played shortstop, second base and first base this season.
Wallace also has already made her mark in the program’s record books as she is the single-season record holder in stolen bases and with today’s accolade she becomes the 25th player in program history to be named an NFCA All-American.
The Gators will open play at the 2022 Women’s College World Series this Thursday at 6 p.m. against Oregon State on ESPN.
