UF SB: No. 10 Gators Travel to Stetson for Midweek Matchup

Florida takes its high-powered offense on the road to face the Hatters.

GAINESVILLE, Fla – The 10th-ranked Florida softball team heads south to DeLand, Fla., Thursday, April 4, at 6 p.m. to take on Stetson in a solo midweek contest at Patricia Wilson Field.

The Gators (31-5) will take on the Hatters (12-23) for the second time this season as the two teams previously met March 13, at Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium. The Orange & Blue were victorious with an 11-2 (5 inning) decision over Stetson.

Highlighting the victory was Senior outfielder Katie Kistler as she had a career night of 5 RBI in the effort going 2-for-2 with three runs scored.

Entering this midweek contest, Florida is coming its third consecutive SEC series victory where UF went 2-1 against Mississippi State leading up to Easter. The Bulldogs came back to win game one narrowly, while the Gators captured the final two games of the series and put the team in second place of the SEC standings.

Nationally, the Gators offense ranks fourth in batting average (.369), second in doubles (71), second in on base percentage (.479), third in scoring with nine runs per game (9), third in slugging percentage (75), and fourth in walks (165).

Individually, Skylar Wallace leads the SEC in batting average (.484), on base percentage (.636), runs per game (.158) and stolen bases (24). Kendra Falby leads the SEC in hits (52), Jocelyn Erickson leads the SEC in RBI (51) and RBI per game (1.42) and Korbe Otis leads the conference in walks per game (0.97).

In the circle Florida boast two talented freshmen in Keagan Rothrock (15-3) and Ava Brown (13-2) as they rank first and second respectively in wins among freshmen in the SEC.
Stetson enters tomorrow’s game riding a four-game losing streak as they were swept on the road by Central Arkansas and lost at home to Florida Atlantic.

The Hatters are led offensively by Kammi Eppley (.343), Madelyn Synoracki (.333) and Addison Foster (.313), while their pitching staff is anchored by Hannah Marien (6-10) with a 2.79 ERA and Lauren Hobbs (5-9) who sports a 4.80 ERA.
