UF SB: Four Gators Earn All-SEC Accolades

Skylar Wallace, Charla Echols, Reagan Walsh and Kendra Falby were named to various All-SEC teams, while Wallace was also named SEC Player of the Year.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Early Friday morning the Southeastern Conference announced its annual All-SEC awards that includes four members of the Florida softball team.  The All-SEC Teams consist of 21 student-athletes on the First Team, 21 student-athletes on the Second Team, and a nine-member All-Defensive Team. No ties were broken.

Skylar Wallace, Charla Echols, Kendra Falby and Reagan Walsh were named to various All-SEC teams, with Wallace being named the SEC Player of the Year. The Woodstock, Ga. native is the seventh SEC Player of the Year in Florida history and the first since Amanda Lorenz won the award in 2018. This season she led conference in nine different offensive categories and ranked second in four additional ones.

“Congratulations to Skylar, Charla, Kendra and Reagan for being recognized by the SEC and its head coaches.” Head Coach Tim Walton said. “It’s truly a special accomplishment to earn any postseason award in this league. The SEC is filled with very talented players and these awards are representative of their hard work, the hard work of their teammates around them and our staff.”

Wallace, in addition to being named SEC Player of the Year, was selected as an All-SEC First Team selection for the second consecutive season along with Charla Echols. Echols, the SEC leader in RBI this year through all games played, secured her second All-SEC First Team award of her career and the first since her unanimous NFCA All-American First Team season in 2021.

Echols a mainstay at the third base position also made her second career appearance on the All-SEC Defensive Team. The Newnan, Ga. native has locked down the hot corner for the Gators all-season and has 39 putouts to along with a team-leading 121 assists.

Falby made a second consecutive appearance on the All-SEC Second Team after a successful sophomore season, while fellow sophomore Reagan Walsh earns her first All-SEC Second Team accolade. Falby leads the team with 19 multi-hit games on the season, has notched a 10-game hit-streak, a 12-game reached base safely streak and six multi-RBI games.
