UF SB: Adams, Falby Selected to SEC All-Tournament Team

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Hannah Adams and Kendra Falby of the Florida softball team were selected to the 2022 SEC All-Tournament Team after the conclusion of the of the SEC Tournament Championship game between No.1-seed Arkansas and No.7-seed Missouri.
It’s the first All-SEC Tournament Team for Falby and the second career accolade for Adams as she was named to the 2019 All-Tournament Team.
The Gators (43-16) went 2-1 in this year’s SEC Tournament with wins over Texas A&M, 4-1, and No.14 Kentucky, 9-3. The Orange & Blue were eventually eliminated from the tournament by No.1-seed and SEC Tournament Champions Arkansas, 4-1, Friday evening.
Falby was the spark plug for the Florida offense the entire tournament. The talented freshman led the tournament field with six runs scored, six hits and two stolen bases through three games played, while Adams batted .500 (4-for-8) with three runs scored, two RBI and a stolen base.
The six runs scored by Falby rank tied for second all-time in SEC Tournament history along with Emily Carosone (Auburn – 2015), Megan Greer (Tennessee – 2015), Ashley Griffin (Auburn – 2005) and Nicole Barber (Georgia – 2002).
SEC Tournament Notables:

  *   Adams and Falby’s SEC All-Tournament Team selections gives Florida a total of 43 selections all-time, which is tied for the second most by any program in SEC history.
  *   Florida improved its all-time SEC Tournament record to 36-29 (.554) and 27-11 (.711) under head coach Tim Walton.
     *   The .711-win percentage by Walton at the tournament leads all active head coaches with at-least 10 games played.
  *   The Gators finished the tournament offensively with a .308 (24-for-78) average at the plate with 14 runs scored, 12 RBI, 10 walks and four stolen bases.
     *   The 24 hits, 14 runs and seven doubles were the most out of any team at the 2022 SEC Tournament.
     *   The eight total extra-base hits were also the most by any team in the tournament.
