UF MTN: No. 2 Florida Sweeps No. 6 TCU on Wednesday

Gators dominate top-10 opponent at home

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – No. 2 Florida (13-1, 8-0 SEC) swept No. 6 TCU (9-4), 7-0, on Wednesday night at Alfred A. Ring Tennis Complex.

The Gators have now won 10-straight matches dating back to Jan. 29 and have defeated six-straight top-25 opponents.

UF earned the doubles point thanks to wins from Sam Riffice and Duarte Vale on No. 2 in a thriller and on No. 3 from Andy Andrade and Ben Shelton.

In singles, it was another dominant night up and down the lineup as Florida only dropped one set in the contest.

Vale improved to 10-3 in dual matches this season while Riffice, this week’s Southeastern Conference Co-Player of the Week, moved to 12-2 in dual matches this season.

Andrade looked impressive at No. 3 and is now 11-3 in dual matches this season while Blaise Bicknell continued his impeccable run of 21-straight wins and is 11-0 in dual matches on the year.

Shelton has looked sharp all season in his freshman campaign and moved to 13-1 in dual matches this season while Josh Goodger continued his successful run at No. 6 and is now 6-0 in dual matches on the year.

The Gators will host Florida State on Sunday at 2 p.m. ET.
