UF MTN: No. 10 Florida Hosts No. 14 Georgia, No. 3 Tennessee in Pivotal SEC Weekend

Gators look to take driver’s seat in Southeastern Conference

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – No. 10 Florida (8-1, 4-0 SEC) is scheduled to host No. 14 Georgia (6-2, 1-2 SEC) and No. 3 Tennessee (14-1, 3-0 SEC) this weekend at the Alfred A. Ring Tennis Complex.

The Gators will play the Bulldogs on Friday at 5 p.m. ET while the Volunteers will visit Gainesville on Sunday at noon ET.

UF enters this weekend flying high after two road victories over LSU and No. 11 Texas A&M, improving its winning streak to five matches.

For their performances against the Tigers and Aggies, Andy Andrade was named the Southeastern Conference Co-Player of the Week while Blaise Bicknell was named SEC Newcomer of the Week.

Florida has used its strong singles play to dominate matches so far this season, compiling a 102-20 overall record and a 43-10 mark in dual matches.

The Bulldogs come into Friday’s matchup after they split their contests last weekend against Ole Miss and Mississippi State.

The Volunteers won both of their matches against the two in-conference Mississippi schools last weekend.

Both matches this weekend will be free to attend and will also be available via live stats and live video. The live links for each match, as well as COVID-19 safety protocols for attendance, are below.

Florida tennis will follow COVID-19 safety protocols established by UF Health, campus leadership, the SEC Medical Guidance Task Force and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Consistent with those guidelines, Florida tennis will maximize fan seating while maintaining proper physical distance.

  *   Admission is free at the Alfred A. Ring Tennis Complex and general admission tickets will be available on a first come-first serve basis.
     *   Additionally, a small allotment of tickets will be available for player guests.
  *   There will be designated seating blocks for groups of two and four indicated by orange seats in the stands to ensure proper physical distancing.
  *   Each block has six feet of distance on all sides. The first rows of each section will be blocked off to create a clear and safer walkway for guests.
  *   In accordance with campus guidelines, face coverings (over the nose and mouth) will be required of all guests throughout the entire match. Failure to comply with this important health guideline could result in loss of attendance privileges.
  *   The complex will feature new signage to help reinforce safety measures and will also feature an increased number of hand sanitizer stations.
  *   Fans are encouraged to utilize clear bags to reduce touch points for entry gate staff.
  *   In the event of inclement weather, patrons will not be allowed into the indoor facility.
  *   Access to the tennis building or the court is not permitted for any patrons.
  *   No outside food or drink is allowed in the complex and the concession stand will remain open.
