Gators post a 78-22 record in the fall
ATHENS, Ga. – Florida swept Ole Miss on Sunday at the Southern Intercollegiate Championships, which was the final day of the tournament. Sunday’s match also served as the final competition for the team this fall.
The Gators went 7-0 on the day, with a 5-0 mark in singles and a 2-0 mark in doubles.
Overall for the tournament, UF posted an impressive 28-6 record by going 19-3 in singles and 9-3 in doubles.
Florida will close out the fall with a 78-22 record overall, a 58-10 mark in singles and a 20-12 doubles record.
“Really proud of our guys for how well they represented the Gators throughout the fall and this weekend in Athens,” Head Coach Bryan Shelton said. “We competed hard all fall and got better through the process. I’m fortunate to be able to work with two outstanding human beings and coaches in Tanner Stump and Scott Perelman. Our entire support staff has done an incredible job this semester with so many modifications due to the pandemic. Our training staff and especially Beca (Maynor), Bryce (Gimmaro) and Duke (Werner) have been outstanding. We have a lot to be thankful for and look forward to continuing the work we are doing together. I know the best is yet to come.”
The Gators will now begin preparations for the spring season, which was cut short in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Day Two Recap
Florida continued its run of impressive fall performances on Saturday as the Gators went 11-3 overall, including a 7-2 mark in singles play, against Georgia and Auburn on day two of the Southern Intercollegiate Championships.
Five of Florida’s singles matches were won in straight sets while Andy Andrade and Lukas Greif rallied back from losses in their first sets to seal victories in three sets.
UF notched a 4-1 record in doubles as well, with Brian Berdusco joining up with Simon Junk of Ole Miss to play his doubles match.
The Gators are scheduled to wrap up the Southern Intercollegiate Championships with a matchup against Ole Miss on Sunday at 10 a.m. ET.

Florida began the Southern Intercollegiate Championships on Friday with a good outing in singles play as the team went 7-1 on the day.
Coming into Friday’s matchup with Auburn, the Gators were 39-7 in singles matches so far this fall and continued that positive momentum with an almost spotless record on day one in Athens.
The duos of Sam Riffice/Duarte Vale, Ben Shelton/Josh Goodger and Will Grant/Lukas Greif earned victories in doubles for UF.
