Yuxin Lin shot a 68 (-2) as the Gators are tied for 5th and tee off round two tomorrow at 8:50 a.m. ET.
ST. SIMONS ISLAND, Ga. – Yuxin Lin led the Florida men’s golf team in round one of the SEC Championship on Wednesday.
The Gators (+2) started on the back nine and through four holes were 3-under to be tied with day one leader Vanderbilt (-7). After a bumpy end to the back nine, Florida found some rhythm in the wind to end tied for 5th.
Lin carded the top score in the lineup with a 68 (-2) for his 11th round under-par to sit in T8. He began his second postseason stint at UF with back-to-back birdies to total four, tied for second most among the field. The junior was one of 17 players to shoot under-par.
Both Fred Biondi and Ricky Castillo shot a 71 (+1) to finish tied for 20th. A stroke back John DuBois is T34 and Tyler Wilkes (+3) at T42.
Florida will tee off round two of stroke play tomorrow at 8:50 a.m. as the top-8 teams make the cut on Friday to advance to match play.
