After two bogeys on the front nine to start the day, Lin rebounded and sunk in three birdies to total seven at the tournament to finish with a score of 72 (+1). He advances to his first-ever third round of a major championship and is one of two amateurs remaining joined by Matthias Schmid from Louisville.
Horschel led the way as he only bogeyed once – hole nine – in his second round to finish 1-under 69. He tied for the best approach play of 94.4 percent with John Rahm.
Owning one of the longest drives today at 339 yards, Horsfield carded three birdies on day two to remain even (70) and make the cut.
Lin is the first to take the course and tees off his third round at 4:20 a.m. ET tomorrow followed by Horsfield at 5:50 a.m. and Horschel at 7:15 a.m.
