This honor marks the redshirt sophomore’s first SEC accolade.
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Redshirt sophomore Fred Biondi has been named to the Southeastern Conference Community Service Team, the league office announced Friday.
Biondi has played an integral part as a representative of Team Impact, a national nonprofit headquartered in Boston, Mass., that connects children facing serious or chronic illnesses with college athletic teams. Serving as a positive ambassador for the program since Theo, an 8-year old child with optic nerve glioma, was added onto the Gators roster in March of 2019, Biondi consistently works to maintain relations with not only Team Impact, but also Theo.
Biondi appeared in six of the Gators official lineups over the 2020-21 season, recording two top-25 finishes. His best finish occurred at the Vanderbilt Legends Collegiate, where his tie for 15th was the best finish of the Florida lineup.
The Brazil native also competed in the Sea Best Invitational as an individual, recording the best finish of his collegiate career after a 4-over par landed him in a tie for sixth place.
