Back Nine Performances Maintain Gators Strong Position
Florida shot 8-under on the day and enters the final round eight strokes off the lead.
EATONTON, Ga. – Performances on the back nine in round two from the Florida men’s golf maintained its third-place position on Monday.
The Gators (-12) shot 8-under, which was the third-lowest score of the day to enter the final round tomorrow paired with Georgia (-20) and Vanderbilt (-20) who are tied for the lead.
The lineup combined for 6-under after the turn compared to only -2 through the first nine holes. Yuxin Lin led the way with a bogey-free back at 4-under to shoot a 69 (-3) and jump to T8. Also posting 3-under on the day, John DuBois ended his round with an eagle on 18 (543 yards) to climb into the top-15 at T12.
Late Birdies from Fred Biondi (T5) and Ricky Castillo (T38) pushed the duo under-par each with a 71 (-1) as Quentin Debove (T31) sank a birdie putt on 18 to end even as all six Gators competing recorded a birdie or better on the final hole.
Florida tees off round three tomorrow at 10 a.m.
