Castleton already has a pair of 30-point games this season
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Florida’s Colin Castleton has been named to the Wooden Award Preseason Top 50, it was announced on ESPN’s SportsCenter on Tuesday. The list was compiled through a preseason poll of national college basketball experts.
Castleton has averaged 25.3 points, 8.7 rebounds and 4.0 blocked shots through the Gators’ first three games. He posted back-to-back 30-point games with 33 points vs. Kennesaw State and 30 vs. Florida Atlantic, the first Gator with consecutive 30-point outings since Anthony Roberson (Jan. 2005).
The fifth-year Florida native posted 30 points, 12 rebounds and five blocked shots vs. FAU on Monday, becoming the only Southeastern Conference player to record those numbers in a game dating back to the 1996-97 season and the first Gator to post a double-double with 30 points since Joakim Noah (3/1/06).
The Gators return to action Friday at Florida State, airing on the ACC Network at 8 p.m.
