UF MBB: Johnson To Return for 2020-21 Season

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – First-team All-SEC honoree Keyontae Johnson will not test the NBA waters and announced his plans to return to Florida for his junior season in 2020-21.

“Dear Gator Nation, I want to thank everyone for being with me doing this decision, and I can’t wait to get back and play with my brothers again next season!” Johnson posted on his Instagram account<https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__www.instagram.com_p_B-2D-2DAbRshRvq_-3Futm-5Fsource-3Dig-5Fweb-5Fcopy-5Flink&d=DwIFAg&c=sJ6xIWYx-zLMB3EPkvcnVg&r=o5LKAX7slotfFMyE71jI7L22NYBIi1-KbRGNSXudTPo&m=nxeAHJJnWUkDRJyhJft_vNpWzYBi_zN-bSlWfV8YK5U&s=kD6_Lzt0tyPzzJ0uhpV8ogOQuH3KWgh8eZ_jXt6PVyA&e= >. “We’ve got unfinished business & the Gators will be ready to go. I’m excited to keep growing on and off the court with Coach White and our coaching staff here & keep playing in front of the Rowdy Reptiles & Gator Nation! Everybody stay safe & Go Gators!”

Johnson led the Gators with 14.0 points per game last season and averaged 7.1 rebounds while shooting .544 from the field. The Norfolk, Va., native had eight double-doubles and six 20-point games last season and won Charleston Classic MVP honors in November. His 25-point, 11-rebound, five-assist performance vs. LSU marked the first 25/10/5 stat line by a Gator since Nick Calathes in 2009.
