Sarah Reznick and Grace Haus pick up AAC accolades
GAINESVILE, Fla. – After taking on the top-ranked North Carolina Tar Heels in a Top-10 matchup, the Gators picked up two American Athletic Conference awards, as the league announced Monday.
Sarah Reznick earned her second-straight AAC Freshman of the Week honor, while Grace Haus was named to the Honor Roll for the second time in two weeks.
Reznick earned Freshman of the Week honors after recording 16 saves on a .593 save percentage against No. 1 UNC. The 16 saves were not only a career-high for Reznick, but tied the program record for most saves in a game (Hicklen – twice). The Long Beach, N.Y. native also registered three groundballs in the game.
Over her first two games, Reznick has recorded 27 saves – averaging 13.50 saves per game, putting her first in the conference and fourth in the nation.
Haus earned her second spot on the honor roll after tallying three goals and an assist against the Tar Heels. Her first hat trick of the season put her at 95 career goals, just five away from becoming just the 13th Gator to reach that milestone.
The Baltimore, Md. native also recorded two groundballs and one caused turnover against UNC.
Haus currently sits second in the conference in total goals (5) and 10th in goals per game (2.50).
The Gators are back in action on Feb. 28 for a Top-10 battle against No. 8 Loyola. Opening draw is slated for 1 p.m. at the Ridley Athletic Complex.
