UF LAX | Gators Claim Two AAC Major Awards; Nine Named All-Conference

Sarah Reznick and Emily Heller each garner major awards

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The No. 8 Florida lacrosse team won two American Athletic Conference postseason awards and had nine players named to the All-Conference Team, as the league announced Wednesday.

The awards come just one day before the Gators take on East Carolina in the American Athletic Conference Tournament semifinal in Philadelphia.

UF finished 5-1 in the conference – earning the No. 2 seed – and the Gators move to 25-1 in league games since joining the AAC in 2019.

Emily Heller was named AAC Midfielder of the Year for the first time in her career, while Sarah Reznick earned her third-straight AAC Goalkeeper of the Year award.

Senior Emily Heller earned AAC Midfielder of the Year after registering 35 points on 34 goals and one assist. The Babylon. N.Y. native has also recorded 40 draw controls, 35 groundballs and 14 caused turnovers through 17 games this season. The Tewaaraton Watch List selection ranks 11th in the conference in goals per game (2.00), ninth in groundballs per game (2.06) and 13th in draw controls per game (2.35). For her efforts, she was named AAC Midfielder of the Week three times during the 2023 campaign and earned one spot on the AAC Honor Roll.

Redshirt junior Sarah Reznick earned her third-straight AAC Goalkeeper of the Year award on Wednesday. The Long Beach, N.Y. native has racked up 151 saves with a .532 save percentage through 17 games this season. The Tewaaraton Top-25 Nominee’s .532 save percentage puts her fourth in the nation heading into postseason play. Reznick currently sits at 551 saves through 68 games in her career, just 15 saves away from tying Haley Hicklen for the program record. Through conference play, she has racked up 50 saves with a .532 save percentage, recording an 8.47 goals-against average. For her efforts this season, she has earned four Goalkeeper of the Week awards and garnered a spot on the AAC Honor Roll twice.

Florida had five All-AAC First Team selections and four All-AAC Second Team honorees to go along with the major award winners. Maggi Hall, Emma LoPinto and Danielle Pavinelli joined Heller and Reznick as the First Team honorees.

Paisley Eagan, Madison Waters, Becky Browndorf and Catherine Flaherty were each named to the All-AAC Second Team. It was the first honor for both Waters and Browndorf, while Eagan and Flaherty have each earned a spot on either the First Team or Second Team during their careers.
