UAB Women’s Soccer Visits Louisiana Tech

BIRMINGHAM – UAB concludes the regular season on Friday night in Ruston, La. when it takes on Louisiana Tech. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m.

UAB LATELY
The Blazers (7-5-1, 2-3-0 C-USA) are looking to get back in the winning column after a pair of setbacks. They are coming off a heartbreaking 1-0 overtime loss to first place Rice on April 2 at BBVA Field.

Lexxe Lipsey leads C-USA with eight goals and 17 points. She ranks 22nd and 42nd in the NCAA in those categories, respectively. 

LA TECH LATELY
The Lady Techsters (9-6-0, 1-4-0 C-USA) have dropped three of their last four matches including a 3-1 loss at Southern Miss on April 4. They are 2-2-0 at the Ruston Soccer Complex this season.

Sophie Fijneman leads LA Tech with four goals and 12 points. 

THE SERIES VS. LA TECH
Friday’s match is the seventh meeting between the Blazers and Lady Techsters. Tech has a 4-2-0 edge over UAB. However, the Blazers have won the last two matches including last season’s 2-1 victory in which Kamilah Mustafa buried a PK in the 44th minute to give the Blazers a 2-1 victory.

C-USA CHAMPIONSHIP BERTH ON THE LINE 
A UAB victory coupled with a UTEP loss or tie would clinch a spot for the Blazers in the Conference USA Championship.
