UAB Women’s Soccer Travels to Rice

BIRMINGHAM – The UAB women’s soccer team continues Conference USA play on Friday night when it visits Rice. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.

UAB LATELY
UAB is coming off a thrilling 2-1 double overtime victory at Southern Miss on Oct. 1. Laura Zemberyova found the back of the net with 1:55 remaining in the 2nd overtime to hand USM its first C-USA loss of the season.

RICE LATELY
Rice has its first league setback on Oct. 2 when they fell 2-0 at WKU. Delaney Schultz is second in C-USA with six goals, six assists and 18 points. Keeper Bella Kilgore is fourth in the league with a GAA of 0.89.

THE SERIES VS. RICE
The teams have met 14 times, with Rice holding a 9-5-0 advantage. The Owls have won six of the last seven meetings.

COMMON OPPONENTS      
The teams have six common opponents this season – LA Tech, North Texas, Southern Miss, UTSA, UTEP and WKU.

UP NEXT
The Blazers return home on Oct. 15 to host North Texas for the annual Bark in the Park night.
