UAB Women’s Soccer Ties Arizona 2-2

TUSCON, Ariz. – In a tale of two halves, UAB and Arizona battled to 2-2 draw on Sunday afternoon.

The Blazers dominated the 1st half, with Carlyn Presley scoring in the 17th and 35th minutes to lead give UAB a 2-0 halftime lead.

However, the Wildcats scored 35 seconds apart in the 73rd minute to make the match level at 2-2.

Keeper Eve Beyer made six saves, playing all 90 minutes.

Up next, the Blazers return home on Sept. 8 against No. 25 Samford. Kickoff is at 7 p.m. The Bulldogs 3-0-2 face No. 21 West Virginia later today in a neutral site match in Auburn, Ala.

GAME NOTES

  • This is the Blazers’ first points over a Power 5 team since August 23, 2013 when they defeated Vanderbilt 3-1
  • This was Presley’s first career multi-goal match
  • Claire Rea and Georgia White each picked up assists
  • Each team had eight shots on goal
