UAB Women’s Soccer Sets School Record With 10 Straight Unbeaten Matches After 1-0 Victory at WKU

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The UAB women’s soccer team extended its unbeaten streak to a school record 10 matches and remained undefeated in Conference USA play after its 1-0 victory at WKU on Sunday afternoon.

Additionally, this victory is the 50th for head coach Erica Demers.

The Blazers (9-2-4, 6-0-2 C-USA) got on the board in the 8th minute when current Conference USA Defensive Player of the Week Hannah Clark’s shot was inadvertently headed into the goal by a WKU defender.

Keeper Eve Beyer made four saves to record her seventh shutout of the season.

UAB remains in second place in Conference USA with 20 points as Rice (21 points) defeated Charlotte earlier today.

The Blazers finish out the road portion of their schedule at LA Tech on Oct. 23. The regular season ends on Oct. 29 against Rice at PNC Field for Senior Night.

NOTES

  • Beyer now has 14 career clean sheets which moved her past Katie Forbis (2003-06) into third most in program history
  • Beyer’s GAA falls to 0.48 and her save percent raises to .860 – both league-bests
  • The previous unbeaten streak was nine matches in 2017
