BIRMINGHAM – The UAB women’s soccer team begins its Conference USA schedule on Thursday evening against LA Tech. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
UAB LATELY
UAB played Alabama tight for 89 minutes on Sunday night, however the Crimson Tide had a quick 36 second scoring flurry at the beginning of the 2nd half where they scored twice in their 2-0 victory.
LA TECH LATELY
The Bulldogs are coming off back-to-back win against Sam Houston (4-0) and Little Rock (2-1).
THE SERIES VS. LA TECH
The teams have met seven times, with Tech holding a slight 4-3-0 advantage. However, UAB has won the last three matchups.
COMMON OPPONENTS
The teams have five common opponents this season – North Texas, Rice. Southern Miss UTEP and UTSA.
UAB IN C-USA OPENERS
The Blazers are 13-11-1 in Conference USA openers.
PROMOTIONS
Thursday will be SAAC Night. The team will be providing free pizza for SAAC. Additionally, lawn games will be set up in the green space near the entrance.
UP NEXT
The Blazers hit the road to face Old Dominion on Sunday afternoon. Kickoff is at 3 p.m. UAB returns home on Sept. 24 against WKU. This match is Youth Soccer Night, where fans 17 and under wearing a school or club shirt or jersey receive free admission to the contest.
