UAB Women’s Soccer Newcomer Spotlight: Haley Skupa

BIRMINGHAM – The UAB Women’s Soccer team welcomes 11 new players to the 2020-21 roster. UABSports.com will provide fans an introduction to these new Blazers, with today featuring Haley Skupa

Skupa hails from Batavia, Ill. and comes to the Magic City after leading the Sockers FC Chicago of the US Development Academy to a 12-0-3 record.
During the 2018-19 season, Skupa played in all 30 of her Development Academy matches with the Sockers, helping the team to a number 3 ranking with five goals and a berth in the national playoffs. The previous season, she tallied six goals.
Her high school senior season at Batavia High School was canceled due to the Coronavirus epidemic. However prior to the season, she was named an Illinois High School Player to Watch.

As a junior, Skupa led the Bulldogs to 17 wins and the 2019 Batavia regional title and the DuKane Conference co-championship.    
Academically, Skupa is an Illinois State Scholar, an honors student and treasurer of the National Honors Society. She plans on majoring in nursing.
