UAB Women’s Soccer Draws at Vanderbilt 0-0 in Exhibition Match

NASHVILLE – In the first exhibition match of the season, UAB and Vanderbilt played to a 0-0 draw on Monday night.

Morgan Halliwill recorded both Blazers’ shots – all on target.

Keepers Anika Toth and Eve Beyer split time in net, with Beyer making three saves.

The Blazers’ defense held Vanderbilt’s leading scorer from last season and All-SEC First Team selection, Regan Kelly to a pair of shots.

“This was a great opportunity for us to play this early on and see the areas that we have coached so far come alive and also help us see areas that we need to focus on,” said head coach Erica Demers. “Our team as a whole never took a play off and we walk away feeling good about our start, but definitely more to come.”

Up next, UAB completes its preseason by hosting Belmont at PNC Park on Aug. 14 at noon. Admission is free.
