UAB WBB Opens West Coast Swing with San Diego State on Monday

SAN DIEGO – The UAB women’s basketball team will travel to California for a pair of games beginning with San Diego State on Nov. 22 followed by Pepperdine on Nov. 24.

UAB LATELY
UAB (3-0) was led by Caitlynn Daniels’ career-high 28 points and Zakyia Weathersby’s double-double of 20 points and 18 rebounds in the Blazers’ 76-62 victory over Mississippi Valley State on Nov. 19.

SDSU LATELY
San Diego State (3-1) is coming off a 65-57 victory against Georgia Southern on Nov. 20. SDSU’s leading scorers are Sophia Ramos (16.8 ppg) and Mallory Adams (10.3 ppg).

UAB AND SDSU HISTORY   
Monday’s game will be the first time the Blazers and Aztecs will meet. SDSU played a pair of games in the Lady Blazer Invitational in 2003, but did not face UAB.

HOW’S THE WEATHER?
Weathersby is the leading scorer (20.0 ppg), rebounder (13.3 rpg) and shot blocker (3.0 bpg) in Conference USA. She is fifth in the league with a .523 shooting percentage. Weathersby is the only player in C-USA to record three double-doubles this season.

UAB BASKETBALL AT BARTOW ARENA
UAB requires wearing a mask indoors – regardless of vaccine status – unless actively eating or drinking and encourages masks during outdoor events, alongside regular handwashing.
