UAB WBB Opens Road Slate at Chicago State

BIRMINGHAM – The UAB women’s basketball team hits the road for the first time in the 2021-22 season when they visit Chicago State on Saturday. Tipoff is scheduled for noon.
 
UAB LATELY
Emily Klaczek scored eight of her career-high 18 points in the 4th quarter as UAB opened its season with a 76-45 victory over Shorter on Nov. 10. Zakyia Weathersby posted a double-double of 12 points and 11 rebounds, Margaret Whitley scored 11 points and Destinee McGhee added career-bests 10 points and nine rebounds for the Blazers.
 
CHICAGO STATE LATELY
Chicago State fell to Wichita State 78-34 in its season opener on Nov. 9. CSU has lost 24 straight games dating back to Jan. 22, 2020.
 
UAB AND CHICAGO STATE HISTORY       
The teams have met one time – a 90-45 victory for UAB in Chicago on Nov. 20, 2018.

WINDY CITY HOMECOMING
Saturday’s game will serve as a homecoming for Klaczek, Whitley, Lindsey DullardSara RosenfeldtKylee Schneringer and student assistant Emily Frasco.
