UAB WBB Hosts Mississippi Valley State

BIRMINGHAM – The UAB women’s basketball team hosts Mississippi Valley State on Saturday afternoon. The contest has a tipoff time of 2 p.m. at Bartow Arena.
 
UAB LATELY                                                                
UAB improved to 6-1 on the season after its 88-49 victory over Mississippi Valley State. The Blazers are undefeated on the Bartow Arena court this season, winning all three games.
 
MISSISSIPPI VALLEY STATE LATELY
Mississippi Valley State snapped a three-game losing streak after its 67-63 overtime victory at New Orleans on Dec. 14. The Delta Devilettes are 1-3 on the road this season.
 
UAB AND MISSISSIPPI VALLEY STATE HISTORY         
All 10 meetings have been dominated by UAB. The Blazers have won by an average of 23.3 points per game while scoring a hair shy of 80 points per game.
 
LAST TIME AGAINST MISSISSIPPI VALLEY STATE                   
Caitlynn Daniels scored a career-high 28 points including a personal-best eight 3-pointers and Zakyia Weathersby recorded a double-double of 20 points and 18 rebounds along with six blocks in UAB’s 76-62 victory over Mississippi Valley State on Nov. 19, 2021.

UAB and Mississippi Valley State have two common opponents this season – LSU and Nicholls.

UAB TO THE AAC                                        
American Athletic Conference officials announced that Charlotte, Florida Atlantic, UTSA, Rice and Texas San Antonio will join UAB as new members in the AAC and compete against current AAC members East Carolina, Memphis, Navy, USF, SMU, Temple, Tulane, Tulsa and Wichita State. The move will be official on July 1, 2023.
