SAN ANTONIO – Zakyia Weathersby recorded a double-double of 14 points and 16 rebounds, but it was UTSA who came away with a 68-60 overtime victory on Saturday afternoon.

The Blazers started off cold in the 1st quarter and did not record their first field gold until Destinee McGhee’s layup at 5:10. The Roadrunners took their largest lead of the half at five points when Charlene Mass’ basket made the score 10-5 at 3:24.

UAB would end the 1st quarter and begin the 2nd quarter on a 9-0 run to take its first lead of the game. A 10-2 run gave the Blazers a 10-point lead at the 3:32 mark on Weathersby’s jumper. UAB would take a 26-17 lead into halftime.

The Blazers were able to keep it a 3-possession game throughout the 3rd quarter. UAB had leads of 11 points twice, the later coming after a Kylee Schneringer free throw made the score 37-26 at 1:06.

Dullard’s 3-pointer at 7:06 of the 4th quarter gave the Blazers another double-digit lead at 45-35. However, they would go 4:17 without a field goal as Chantel Govan’s 3-pointer cut the deficit to two points at 46-44 at 4:11.
