UAB Adds Clemson Transfer Trey Jemison to Roster

BIRMINGHAM – UAB head men’s basketball coach Andy Kennedy has announced the addition of Birmingham native Trey Jemison to the roster. Jemison comes to UAB after playing the past two seasons at Clemson.

Jemison is coming off a season where he played in 30 of the Tigers’ 31 games while shooting 49 percent from the floor. In his first career start against Notre Dame, the 7-0 center registered career-highs with seven rebounds (four on the offensive glass) and 30 minutes played. In Clemson’s win against Alabama A&M, Jemison had career-highs of 10 points and four blocks – which tied the Clemson single-game high for the season.

In his freshman season, Jemison played 20 games for a Tigers team that advanced to the second round of the NIT.

A four star recruit who graduated from Hoover High School, Jemison was ranked No. 1 in the state of Alabama and No. 12 in the country at his position, according to ESPN. During his senior season with the Buccaneers, Jemison averaged 19.0 points, 15.0 rebounds and 5.0 blocks per game. He led Hoover to 28 wins and a berth in the 7A ASHAA Final Four and was named All-State Honorable Mention.

Prior to his time at Hoover, Jemison played at Homewood High School. He led the Patriots to the 2016 6A ASHAA state title.

“We are excited that Trey has chosen to return to home and  be a part of this program,” said head coach Andy Kennedy. “He will immediately give us a huge presence in the paint with his abilities on both ends of the court. Trey had a tremendous high school career in this city and the two years he spent in the ACC has prepared him to make an immediate impact for Blazer basketball.”
