Top-Seeded Bulls Open Conference Tournament Against No. 8 Memphis

TAMPA, May 8, 2019 – USF will open the American Athletic Conference Championship against eighth-seeded Memphis at 10:05 ET on Thursday Morning in Houston.

Despite a 1-2 start to its conference slate, USF (39-17, 17-4) went on to sweep five straight teams before clinching The American regular season title with a game-three win over Wichita State last weekend. With their regular season title, the Bulls claimed the top seed heading into the conference tournament.

USF picked up three major awards and five all-conference selections heading into postseason including: coaching staff of the year, pitcher of the year, defensive player of the year, two first team selections, two second team picks and an all-rookie team honoree.

The single-elimination tournament will crown the sixth conference champion in league history and seal an automatic bid for the winner to the 2019 NCAA Division I Softball Championship.

USF will look to book a trip to The American tournament championship game for the third time in league history and second straight season. Eriksen’s Bulls have advanced to the semifinals four times.
