Thrilling Win for the Astros

By Byron Richmond

What a finish to the ALCS, Jose Altuve who is my height of 5’6 and was once told he wouldn’t make it in baseball came through in the bottom of the 9th as he hit a two run homer of Aroldis Chapman to end the game 6-4.  This game from the beginning started off big as it was both teams going with the bullpen. The Yankees bullpen was the first to surrender runs as the Astros go to them early striking for three quick runs off of Yuli Gurriel’s home run. Yankees then bounced back in the 2nd off of Peacock as they scored one run coming off of Didi Gregorious double to right field as the score narrowed to two to make it 3-1 Astros. The scoring stopped until the top of the 4th when Gio Urshela homered on the first pitch of the at bat to right center off of Jose Urquidy to edge the score 3-2. Astros got another run in the 6th off of Tommy Kahnle when Jose Altuve scored from a force out at 2nd by Alex Bergman to make the score 4-2 Astros.

Now comes the exciting inning the 9th and who would have seen this coming as DJ LeMahieu homered off of Roberto Osuna to right field to tie up the game 4-4. When watching it Marisnick was literally inches close to catching it to end the game but unfortunately the game continued on. Now to the bottom of the 9th with Aroldis Chapman in the game he was able to get Maldonado to strike out and Reddick to pop out but the comeback to the walk off started of when Springer walked to set up the two run homer by Altuve to end the game 6-4. Moments like that is why people like myself love the game of baseball because you never know what’s going to happen. The best moment was seeing the joy and excitement from everyone in that park after he hit the home run and the players bum rushing Altuve at the plate was amazing and to the Yankees you guys had a good year but better luck next year.
