JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed 2019 third-round draft pick TE Josh Oliver to his NFL rookie contract, the club announced today.

“I’m excited to sign that paperwork that officially makes me a Jaguars player,” said Oliver. “I’m excited for this opportunity. This is something that I’ve dreamt of my entire life.”

With their first of two third-round selections in the 2019 NFL Draft, the Jaguars selected Oliver from San José State. Oliver, 6-5, 249, played in 49 games with 36 starts as a Spartan and totaled 98 receptions for 1,067 yards. As a senior in 2018, he earned first-team All-Mountain West and recorded 56 catches for 709 yards and four TDs. Oliver’s 709 receiving yards ranked fifth nationally among FBS tight ends. In 2017, Oliver had a breakout junior season, recording 35 catches for 296 yards after registering four catches as a freshman and three catches as a sophomore.

Originally from Paso Robles, Calif., Oliver attended Paso Robles High School and played football and basketball.  He can be found on Twitter at @JoshO_3. Oliver will wear No. 89 this season.

Oliver is the third of the team’s seven 2019 draft selections under contract.
