The NFL mock Draft – The Top 10

By Greg Fuchs

Here is Version II of my Top 10 NFL Mock Draft. After having a few
weeks to digest the latest information and rumors, I have made several
changes from a couple of weeks ago.
1 – Jacksonville: Clemson QB Trevor Lawrence. He is the only given in
the entire draft.
2 – New York Jets: BYU QB Zach Wilson. Although the Jets haven’t
come out and confirmed Wilson will be their choice, there is no reason
to think it won’t be him.
3 – San Francisco: Alabama QB Mac Jones. The 49ers traded up to #3
for a reason, but they aren’t saying why. Industry insiders believe the
49ers feel Jones is the best fit for their system. Most “experts” feel
Jones is the lowest ranked of the top 5 QBs and that Justin Fields or
Trey Lance would be a better choice. We’ll find out for sure on April
29th , draft day.
4 – Denver: North Dakota St. QB Trey Lance. The Broncos trade up
from the 9th spot with Atlanta to hopefully get their franchise QB. The
4th pick in the draft is probably the most intriguing spot in the draft as
the Falcons could keep the pick and draft a QB or TE Kyle Pitts or they
could trade the pick. Since they have indicated they are open to trading
the pick, I’m assuming they will. If they don’t make a deal with Denver,
expect New England or Chicago to try their best to trade up.
5 – Cincinnati: Oregon Offensive Tackle Penei Sewell. They will be very
tempted to select Pitts or LSU wideout Ja’Marr Chase, but ultimately
the Bengals know their highest priority is to protect QB Joe Burrow.
Plus, the WR class is deep, which will allow them to grab one in the 2 nd
round.

6 – Miami: Florida TE Kyle Pitts. If Pitts is still on the board, he will
become the newest Dolphin. If Pitts is off the board, they will be
tempted to take Sewell if he’s still there, but realize their bigger need is
upgrading the skill positions on offense and will select LSU WR Chase.
7 – Detroit: LSU WR Ja’Marr Chase. They need to give new QB Jared
Goff someone to throw to in light of losing wide receivers Kenny
Golladay and Marvin Jones in free agency.
8 – New England: Ohio St. QB Justin Fields. The Pats resigned Cam
Newton to only a 1-year deal, so they need to find their future
quarterback. Therefore, they trade up from the 15th spot with Carolina.
9 – Atlanta: Penn St. LB Micah Parsons. After trading down from the 4th
spot with Denver, there is many directions the Falcons could go, but
they need to improve the defense and Parsons is arguably the best
defensive player in the draft.
10 – Dallas: Alabama CB Patrick Surtain II. The Cowboys will be
tempted to take offensive lineman Rashawn Slater, but opt to improve
their porous defense.
Slater plus WRs Devonta Smith & Jaylen Waddle slide out of the top 10,
which shows how much talent there is in this draft.
So, there you go – that is what my crystal ball shows for my Mock Draft
Top 10, for this week anyway!
