The Front Office Ran by Brad Holmes and company are trying to build this team into something to be reckoned with. They started the offseason right by cutting the trade black eye that was Michael Brockers,thus creating 10 million in cap space. Restructured Big V (RG) and R. Okwara (Edge) to more palatable deals thus creating more space yet.
In free agency, picked up a Top 25 CB in Cam Sutton, also added DB Emmanuel Mosely, and Safety CJ Gardner Johnson. To me the biggest acquisition was RB David Montgomery to replace Jamaal Williams with his departure. Also brought back Marvin Jones Jr. WR on a very team friendly 1 year deal. FA Grade A-
Retained Will Harris DB and Alex Anzalone. But lost Deshon Elliot (S), Chris Board (LB) DJ Chark (WR) Evan Brown (C/G). B-
So without the draft being completed, I give this off season a nice B+ so far. And plenty of picks in the draft to bolster this team.
Even some of the professional sports guys are saying the Lions could be a contender this season. Vegas thinks they’re better too. Giving the Lions the best preseason over/Under since the Barry Sanders era at 9.5 wins.
