The Draft May Be Done But Moves Were Make

By: Jeremy T.  Ballreich

Day 3 came to a close with Brad Holmes making a final day Draft trade. 6 in total for the Lions this draft. D’Andre Swift was traded with 249th pick in the draft to the Philadelphia Eagles (aka: UGA-North) for a 2025 4th round pick and 219th pick this draft.

With pick 152 the Lions addressed Oline depth with OT/G Colby Sordal from William and Mary College.

With 219th pick the Lions added WR depth with  Antoine Green of North Carolina

This draft set a record for trades within the draft with 44 in all. The Houston Texans made 8 trades while the Lions and Cards made 6 each for the 2nd most.

Seeing as the Lions pretty addressed all needs both sides of the ball. I’m very satisfied with giving a way too early draft grade of a B+ overall.

5 of their first 6 picks were considered top 50 players on the big board for draft prospects. That says a lot about the scouting ability of this team. Also backed up with only the 2nd time since Next Gen Stats inception that the first 5 players of any team had above 80 NGS scores for 5 players taken in 3 rounds.

Next I will evaluate the UDFA class for the Lions!
