The Detroit Lions vs. The Green Bay Packers

The Detroit Lions Vs. The Green Bay Packers
By Jeremy T. Ballreich

On January 8th, 2023 the Detroit Lions will be facing off with their bitter rival, the Green Bay Packers. Both teams are playing drastically better than the beginning of the season. Green Bay winners of 4 in a row. While the Lions are 3-1 in their last 4 games. Mostly due to the emergence of their defensive play for both teams. GB probably has a future HOf QB in Aaron Rodgers and the Lions have one if the best Game Manager QBs in Jared Goff.

The Packers have a formidable RB duo when they are going good in Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon. But they can be held down at the same time. The Lions have a stable of RBs lead by Jamal Williams and D’Andre Swift.  Williams is the current rushing TD leader with 15 on the season (most in his career) and Swift has been looking better of late as well.

Both defenses, because of a bad start to the season are not ranked very highly overall. GB 27th, and Det 31st. But Detroit has a much better WR core than Green Bay.

If the Lions can contain the rushing attack of Green Bay, again! This should be a game they can win. Because if the stellar play overall of the Lions Oline lead by Pro Bowler Frank Ragnow, and Penei Sewell.

The defense also needs to remain hot on getting pressure on the QB. Last time Rodgers was sacked 3 times pressured 8 tines and hit 4 times leading to 3 INTs in the Red Zone.

If all goes well
Det   34
GB    28

If it all falls apart
Det 20
GB  27
