The Detroit Lions Head to the Big Easy to Take on the New Orleans Saints

By: Jeremy T. Ballreich

This week proves to be another test for our Cardiac Cats (8-3), as they’re about to face the Saints (5-6). The Saints are another team that has a M.A.S.H. Unit on call for their injured players right now.

They be missing Michael Thomas (who’s on the IR) Rasheed Shaheed, All Pro DE Cam Jordan, LB Pete Werner. Still no word on Chris Olave’s concussion. Oof. There is a few more, but these are the big names to say the least.

So far, other than people on Injured Reserves, the only player to be out is Alex Anzalone.

In a way, it’s a blessing in disguise for Jack Camobell. Due to necessity, he has to let our MLB we drafted in the first round actually play MLB for the first time in a regular season game.

While some fans are excited to see Malcolm Rodriguez (Rodrigo) play Ironman football due to him learning the FB position (due to Cabinda being injured). I err on the side of caution. The Lions tried to dabble with this Jason Cabinda’s first year he played FB. He has never had a healthy season since.

Would rather they let SVSU standout Trevor Nowaske play on defense.

I expect the Lions should run the ball proficiently against the Saints. Then run the ball some more.

On defense, hopefully Aaron Glenn learns the secret of unlocking Detroit’s pressures again (His world not mine), er excuse me. Coach it into the defense (insert eye roll here!)

If they do all this:
Lions       35
Saints     20

If we see anything like the past 2 weeks:
Lions       22
Saints     31

Thanks For Reading!!!
