The Cardiac Cats Come Up Short In The Windy City

By: Jeremy T. Ballreich

At 1 pm Eastern time. The Lions attempted to play football against the Chicago Bears. I say attempted, because what I saw on the field was an abysmal, abhorrent display of how not to play. There was flash plays here and there. But for the most part, looked like an unprepared, and an undisciplined team. Kudos to the Bears who had a good game on both sides of the ball. 3 out of the last 4 weeks we have watched Jared Goff look like the way the Rams traded him for Matt Stafford. 9 turnovers in 4 games. 5 INTs and 4 fumbles lost.

The offense had the lead at Halftime 13-10. Plus receiving the ball. You would think that would be a good combination. But 3 straight drives we saw them go 3 in out. The Defense was doing well enough to keep them in.  But they eventually broke due to getting tired from being on the field.

Aidan Hutchinson got  another sack. The Dline played better than I thought they would with Alim McNeil out for at least 4 games. But the secondary was torched open. Whether in man or in zone coverages. Overall, the Detroit Lions came up a two score dawg on the scoreboard.

Whether it was the untimely penalties, the turnovers, or the missed tackles. This team looked more like the 4-8 team today

Tackling still seems to be a big issue with the defense.
Final Score
DET     13
CHI      28
