Sullivan Signs Two to Complete 2022-23 Roster

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic University women’s basketball head coach Jennifer Sullivan has announced the signings of transfers, Devyn Scott and Jada Moore on Wednesday. Scott just wrapped up her sophomore season at Fairleigh Dickinson and hails from Montgomery, New York, while Moore is a Denver native coming off her second year at Kansas State.

“We are very excited to have both Devyn and Jada join our Owl family,” said Sullivan. “Our staff felt an immediate connection with Devyn, Jada and their families during the recruiting process. Both Devyn and Jada have shown a true passion to be strong student-athletes and will fit our culture very well.”

Scott is coming off her sophomore season at FDU, having started in 29 of 30 games to average 26.6 minutes per game. The 5-8 guard averaged 5.5 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game last season. Scott added in seven double figure scoring games, seven 5+ assist games and six 6+ rebound games.

In 2020-21, Scott was named to the 2020-21 All-Northeast Conference Rookie Team. In her first collegiate season, she logged a career-high 18 points off 8-of-14 shooting from the field against St. Francis Brooklyn. Coming into her junior year, Scott has 49 career starts underneath her belt, while also having led the Knights to back-to-back winning seasons. In high school, Scott was a four-year letterwinner and starter at Gill St. Bernard’s School, where she was a two-time Skyland All-Conference Second Team recipient.

“Devyn adds another experienced accomplished guard to our rotation,” said Sullivan. “Her athleticism allows her makes plays for herself and others and she’s a tough defender. Our staff felt an immediate connection with Devyn and her family during the recruiting process.”

Jada Moore
Moore played in 49 games across two seasons for the Wildcats. This past season, she set season-highs in points (68), rebounds (61) and field goals made (27), while averaging 2.3 points per game. Moore set a career-high 13 points off six field goals versus Northwestern, while also pulling down a career-high seven rebounds against Central Arkansas. Also this season, Moore dished out a career-high seven assists versus WKU and came up with four steals versus Northwestern State.

Jada

An achiever in the classroom, Moore is a 2022 Academic All-Big 12 Frist Team recipient and two-time Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll member. Moore was the 58th guard in the nation by ESPN/Hoopgurlz for the Class of 2020, as well as ranked the 95th guard nationally by 2020 World Exposure Report.

“Jada is a tall wing who can score in variety of ways,” said Sullivan. “We love her length, basketball IQ, as well as the fact she has been competing at a very high level in the Big 12. Jada was also selected to the Academic All-Big 12 First Team, which shows her commitment to the classroom.”

Sullivan also added Rutgers transfer Joiya Maddox and four talented freshman to complete the 2022-23 squad.
