Straight Lions Talk with Glover Quin

By: Jeremy T.  Ballreich

On Sunday December 11th, 2022 after the Lions humiliating win over the Vikings. I had the pleasure of sitting in on a podcast with former Lions Safety, Glover Quin. As I have done this before. There is one question that every Sports Player hates as a question. What is your favorite memory as a player. A cohert of mine got the berated answer. “Why do I have to have a favorite moment? Because I actually loved my time in Detroit.”

Me: “Glover, what do you think of the Lions current success the past 6 weeks, and what do you think the Lions need in the next season?”

Glover: “I love what Dan Campbell and Holmes has done with the team so far. As far as needs, instead of drafting a young DB in the draft. They need to spend money on a mid-level vet for leadership in the backfield. Like they did when they signed me in 2014.” He continued, :Because even though the coaches are doing well, and are former players, most of them.played before the young guys did. So a decent vet player, without breaking the bank, it would give them the leadership on the field without breaking the bank.”

Me:  “What do you think of the last couple of drafts?”

Glover:”I have loved everyone they picked, all add something to the team. Sure there is always a head scratcher or two. But they all have started or played in both seasons. Sewell is a major talent, and the pick this year of Hutchinson, he was exactly the type of player this defense needed. He wants to be in Detroit, from Plymouth, MI. And stated it would be honor to be in Detroit.”

Glover Quin also is a Podcaster now, enjoying his retirement. Believe In The Lions Podcast with a cohost. I hope one day he would get back into football as a DB Coach.
